We began with an altitude of 1200 meters from sea level and end the trek at 500 meters.

It is one very good trek with lot of photography opportunities. During the initial phase, one gets to photograph landscapes and birds which are found on higher altitudes. Towards the end, when one enters into the dense, the altitude changes and one gets the opportunity to photograph macro wildlife and foothills birds.

Generally in a jeep safari and elephant safari one misses out on minute details of wildlife. In trek when one is on foot, every single detail can be observed. It is a very different and unique experience than jeep and elephant safari.

FAQ's Elephant Safari

Elephant safari is private and whole elephant is booked for you even if the number of members are less than four.

Maximum 4 adults can sit on one elephant. In case there are small kids, they may be accommodated on the same elephant but that is at discretion of Mahout (Pilot of elephant) as he has to look at factors like overall weight and weight balancing.

Elephant is the safest animal to ride on and explore the jungles. Mahouts (Pilot of elephant) are also very experienced and equipped with knowledge of flora and fauna and keep safe distance from the wildlife for safety of guests and minimal disturbance to wildlife.

Elephant safari starts from a particular point also known as mounting point of the elephant. Guests have to reach the mounting point of elephant on their own vehicle where they board the elephant and start the safari

Elephant safari happens in corbett Landscape and there are treks on which it happens. There are no names given to these trek and mahout can change the trek based on the situation to maximize the chances of wildlife spotting.

Effectively elephant safari happens for 90 minutes but 2 hours are considered including boarding and deboarding time at the mount point.

Elephant safari duration is for 90 minutes and elephant does not walk at very high speed. So the limitation of elephant safari is the distance covered. In case there is a tiger present in the covered area at that time, chances are good that elephant will spot the tiger.

The advantage with jeep safari is that it covers more distance as compared to elephant safari but advantage with elephant safari is that it doesnot have to mave and fixed trek and can go anywhere inside the jungle. So both the types of safaris have their advantages. But if spotted wildlife can be observed from close quarters from the back of an elephant. This is the reason elephants are used by forest department for most of their operations as well.

Generally we suggest full body covered clothing on elephant safari as it may enter into bushes as high as elephant if required. Full body clothes can avoid scratches from the bushes.

Elephant safari timings are fixed and divided into slots. Guests have to book the safari for a particular slot and have to reach the mount point of elephant according to their booked slots only.

As such there is no age limit for elephant safari but very small children are not recommended for safari as while negociating rough terrains there might be bumps and can be testing for back.

Since elephant can negotiate forests and can go into deepest bush, all the timings are equally good for elephant safari in terms of wildlife spotting.

Yes, if the elephant is booked for you, you can add or replace any member. While booking as well, member names are not asked. But maximum number of members can go up to 4 on one elephant.
